Abraham Somavarapha

Estate Advisor

Abraham Somavarapha serves as an Estate Advisor with Advisors with Purpose. He has an academic background in Finance and International Trade with designations including the PFP® and the CITP®.

In his spare time, he enjoys studying religion and listening to podcasts including the Bible in a Year & the Bible Project. On the weekend, you might find him enjoying a game of cricket at the park or walking dogs.

Chantel Gibbs

Estate Advisor

Chantel was born and raised in Vernon, BC along with her three siblings. Chantel holds a CPA designation, BA in Business Administration and a B.Sc. in Chemistry. She enjoys educating people on tax and financial issues and was naturally drawn to the world of financial planning. Her specialization in corporate planning gives her the ability to service small business owners as well as people with personal planning needs. She now specializes as an Estate Advisor, with the team at Advisors with Purpose.

When not working, she volunteers on the worship team at her church, helps with youth group, and tries to keep active. Her favourite things are visiting with friends and family, playing board games, and going for a nice walk in nature.

Mary Lynn Huizinga

Estate Advisor

Mary Lynn grew up in an entrepreneurial family and for the last 43 years she has watched, worked, and now helps direct her family’s business.  Having an advisor walk with her family through seasons of business transition inspired her to pursue her own CFP designation. Her passion is educating and empowering clients to make well informed decisions with the resources God has entrusted to them. She is currently working on her Master Financial Advisor – Philanthropy (MFA-P) designation to provide clients with strategic philanthropic advice.

Mary Lynn passionately believes in making a difference. Having served with YWAM (Youth with a Mission), she has spent time in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and the Philippines. She has also supported work in Morocco and Jordan. She has been involved locally in her church with children’s ministries, youth missions’ trips, marriage ministries, and women’s prison ministries. Mary Lynn serves as a board member for the Christian Credit Union where the focus is to encourage people to be faithful stewards of the financial resources God has given to them.

Mary Lynn has been married for 33 years to her husband Peter, and together they have seven children and six grandchildren.  She loves hospitality and frequently hosts dinners for a houseful. If you can’t find her in her office, she’s probably at Costco getting supplies for the next event.

Estate Advisor

Ray brings over 28 years of experience in corporate finance, leadership, and strategic planning
across Canada and internationally, supported by his CPA, EMBA, and CKA credentials. 
For Ray, estate planning is more than documents and numbers—it’s about stewardship:
understanding what we’ve been entrusted with and making thoughtful decisions that reflect our
values, care for our loved ones, and support causes that matter deeply. 
Ray’s work is shaped by a deep commitment to serving others. He volunteers as a Chaplain with the
Billy Graham Rapid Response Team, is involved in prison ministry, and mentors individuals and
families in biblical financial stewardship. He also leads men’s groups at his church, focused on faith
and intentional living. These experiences shape his approach—grounded in compassion, clarity, and
a genuine desire to help others live and give with purpose.

Teresa Yeung

Estate Advisor

Driven by a fervent desire to promote charitable giving and foster a more harmonious world, Teresa is drawn to Advisors with Purpose.

Teresa possesses a wealth of experience in the financial sector, having earned her Bachelor of
Commerce degree from the University of Manitoba. Committed to continuous professional
growth, she has acquired a range of pertinent certifications, including Certified Financial
Planner (CFP®), Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®), Fellow of the Canadian Securities
Institute (FCSI®), Registered Retirement Consultant (RRC®), Responsible Investment Specialist
(RIS), and Certified Executor Advisor (CEA).

Embracing the belief that “it is more blessed to give than to receive,” Teresa and her family are
deeply engaged in volunteer work. Their philanthropic endeavors encompass a wide spectrum,
from serving at soup kitchens and assisting in senior homes to supporting mental health and
cancer support groups, bereaved families as well as mentoring online. Teresa also actively
contributes to financial literacy by volunteering to educate elementary school students on
money management.

In her leisure time, Teresa finds solace in hiking, using nature as a means to connect with the
Creator. Additionally, she indulges her empathy and understanding of others by immersing
herself in dramas and movies.

Bill Hirtle 201910

William 'Bill' Hirtle

Estate Advisor

Bill joined Advisors with Purpose in 2019 as an Estate Advisor.  Bill graduated from Mount Allison University in 1977. Bill received his Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA),Chartered Accountant (CA) designation in 1979.  Bill and his wife Janice moved to Peace River, Alberta in 1982, where Bill practiced public accounting with a national accounting firm until his retirement in 2018.  During Bill’s time in public practice, he developed a wide range of experience in assurance, tax, estate planning and general consulting.

Bill has been actively involved in his community, serving in several areas including a community foundation; and board member and treasurer at his local church. Bill enjoys sports and has been an organizer, coach and referee in a number of sports over the years.

Bill and Janice recently moved back to New Brunswick, closer to family. They have four children as well as four grandchildren.

William Walker is a faith-driven estate advisor who is passionate about helping individuals and families steward their God-given resources with wisdom, purpose, and lasting Kingdom impact. With extensive experience in estate planning conversations, charitable legacy giving, insurance solutions, and final arrangement preplanning, he helps clients create estate plans that reflect their heart’s desires, honor their deepest values, and preserve family harmony for generations to come.

William loves serving alongside the team at Advisors with Purpose, partnering with professionals who share a biblical perspective on stewardship and helping families use the resources God has entrusted to them for His glory and the advancement of His Kingdom. He is especially passionate about helping clients align their estate plans with charitable giving goals and legacy wishes. He is currently furthering his expertise through the pursuit of his Master Advisor in Philanthropy (MAFP) and Certified Kingdom Advisor (CKA) designations.

Outside of his advisory work, William serves as worship director at his home church and enjoys writing and producing new music. He also loves spending time outdoors on their small country acreage, doing yardwork, helping his wife Melanie with gardening projects, and investing in family life with Melanie and their two children, Sadie-Jo and Isaac.

Tanya Rust

Admin Assistant

Tanya joined the Advisors with Purpose team in January 2015 and previously worked in a wide variety of fields including pipeline survey/construction, house painting, Canada Post letter carrier, and as a certified Internet/Network Administrator throughout the years while raising 2 children. Born in Ajax, she has lived in every province including and to the west of Ontario and currently lives on beautiful Vancouver Island. 

Tanya has served her local church in numerous volunteer capacities teaching Sunday school, as Audio/Visual Ministry Lead Sound Technician, and Event Coordinator and took on the role of Church Administrator in October 2012. Tanya has been married to husband Shaun for 23 years and enjoyed watching their girls’ many sports and activities through the years. She loves sports photography, hiking, reading, watching her daughter’s college softball (along with lots of other sports), and loves it when her girls are home from university.

Debbie Maure

Communications Manager

Debbie joined the team of Financial Discipleship Canada in the fall of 2017.  Previous to coming to FDC, Debbie enjoyed years in the not-for-profit world in various capacities.  Debbie lives with her husband in the wonderful village of Merrickville, Ontario.

Not much delights Debbie more than having a full house of family and friends.
